Biography

My background is in the development of novel plasma diagnostics – specifically X-Ray spectroscopy and optical Thomson scattering. My current work is focussed on designing the Vulcan 2020 Laser Facility at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory.

I previously worked as a postdoc in Gianluca Gregori’s group at the University of Oxford. In this role I led experimental campaigns including a search for axions at EuXFEL; an investigation of plasma beam instabilities at CERN’s HiRadMat facility; and a cosmic ray transport study using the nHelix laser at GSI.

Prior to this I was part of the MAGPIE group at Imperial College. Here, my primary research interest was in radiation driven plasma physics experiments.

You can find a (hopefully up-to-date!) copy of my CV/resume here.
